Author Guidelines

Types of Submissions

AJOGSMR welcomes original and scholarly articles that address topical issues of global interest. Submissions include original research articles, review papers, short communications, and book reviews.

• Manuscripts should not exceed 14 pages or a maximum of 4,500 words (including abstract, references, tables, figures, graphs, diagrams, and photographs).
• Manuscripts may be written in English or Arabic.

Manuscript Preparation

General Format

• File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
• Font: Times New Roman, 12pt
• Spacing: Double-spaced throughout
• Margins: 2.54 cm (1 inch) on all sides
• Pages should be numbered consecutively

Title Page

The title page should include:

• Full title of the article (concise and informative)
• Full names and affiliations of all authors
• Corresponding author's email address and phone number
• ORCID iDs of all authors (mandatory)

Abstract and Keywords

• A structured or unstructured abstract of 200–250 words
• Four to five keywords

Body Structure

Research articles should generally follow this structure:

• Introduction — context, objectives, and significance
• Literature Review — relevant scholarship and theoretical framework
• Methodology — research design, data collection, analysis methods
• Results / Findings
• Discussion — interpretation and implications
• Conclusion and Recommendations

Referencing Style

AJOGSMR uses the APA 7th Edition referencing style. All in-text citations must have a corresponding entry in the reference list and vice versa. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software (e.g. Zotero, Mendeley) to ensure accuracy.

Tables and Figures

• Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and placed within the text.
• Table number and title should be placed above the table.
• Figure number and caption should be placed below the figure.
• Figures should be submitted in high-resolution format (300 dpi minimum).

Ethical Requirements

• Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
• Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.
• Research involving human participants must include evidence of ethical approval.
• Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable. All submissions are screened using plagiarism-detection software.

How to Submit

Manuscripts should be submitted by email to journalofgeneralstudies@gmail.com with the subject line: "AJOGSMR Submission — [Your Article Title]".

Please attach:

• The manuscript file (Word format)
• A cover letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief
• A completed copyright transfer form (available upon request)

Review Process

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. The typical turnaround is four to six weeks. Authors will receive one of the following decisions:

• Accept
• Accept with minor revisions
• Revise and resubmit
• Reject
